Outer Banks Bass Fishing

May 10, 2013

I took a trip to East Lake to see what stage the bass are in.  East Lake is not really a lake, its more very large bay off the Albermarle Sound and Alligator River.  Connected to East Lake near the outlet to the Alligator River is South Lake.  The main cover in East Lake is wood such as stumps, lay downs, and logs.  Most of the banks are lined with bulrush type reeds.  East Lake is a very wide open body of water, and windy conditions make it hard to fish.

It didn't take long to put fish in the boat.

A couple of nice bookends, and one of many puppy drums.  In this fishery you never know what's on the other end of the line.
