Outer Banks Bass Fishing

July 24, 2014

Today I went to the Pasquotank River in Elizabeth City with my good friend Chad.  Chad fishes in my bass club and he took me fishing on one of his favorite rivers.  We had a fun day and caught a bunch of fish.  Thanks Chad for the great day!!!

Outer Banks Freshwater Light Tackle

July 21, 2014

I went out today to locate a few schools of fish for a upcoming light tackle trip.  I could not resist looking for a few bass in the morning and then switching to light tackle.  I get a few calls every week asking about our light tackle adventure, so I made a little video explaining the fishing setup and some fish catches.  The video is posted below and on the adventure page on the website.  When it gets hot the light tackle adventure is at it's best with steady action and a variety of fish catches.

I decided to go out on North River today to try some new baits and fish around after a tough day yesterday.  I caught a bunch of small fish and a couple nice fish.  Here are a few pictures of the nice fish.

Outer Banks Bass Fishing

Today I enjoyed a half day trip with Ryan and Chris from Pennsylvania.  I don't know if it was the hurricane a few days ago or just a slow day but the river was tough.  Ryan and Chris are very good fishermen and they put the baits where they live, but the bass just did not want to cooperate.  Still they caught a few fish and a couple of bowfin.  Thanks for the fun day!

Today I enjoyed a half day trip with Joey from Kentucky.  We caught a few fish to start the morning on top water and then switched to soft plastics.  Joey is a very good fisherman and he had to work for the bites.  Thanks for a good day!!!

Outer Banks Bass Fishing

Today I went to prefish for a tournament on Little River near Elizabeth City.  The bite was good but a lot of small fish and a only a few keepers.  I caught one nice fish and found a bank that might hold some quality but I won't find out until tomorrow.  Here are a few pictures of the good ones.

On tournament day I caught over 25 fish, but only 4 keepers.  Those four weighted 11.28 pounds good enough for 2nd place, with the winner having 11.32 pounds.  I did have lunker for the tournament with a 5.28 pounder.
